Schierholz Center Piece Bowl

This is a beautiful C. G. Schierholz & Son Hand Painted in the town of  Plaue Center Piece Bowl with handles. One scene inside the bowl shows the lovely Maidens dancing around as a playful putti joins in.  Another hand painted scene shows a Maiden being pampered as the darling putti receives an affectionate hand.  On either side of these scenes are lovely hand painted flowers in vivid colors of pink, purple, peach red with green leaves.  The background coloring is a lovely turquoise blue.  On the outside the scenes are of two Maidens enjoying one another-‘s company as cupid looks on.  On the other side are four Greek Mythology men deep in concentration.  Again either side is hand painted with lovely flowers.  There are touches of gold everywhere.  The scenes and flowers are beautiful with deep vivid colors.  The two curved handles are pink with touches of gold.  There is some loss of gold design on the outer rim but the scenes are so wonderful it’s hardly noticeable.  One other minor flaw is a flea bite on the maidens orange dress. This bowl is exquisite and would enhance any room where it was displayed.  Measurements are as follows:  9 7/8″ Handle to Handle – 9″ Diameter – 4 ¼” High top of Handle – 2 ¾” High top of Bowl.

Von Schierholz porcelain dates from around 1817. Since its inception, rather than focus on dinnerware, the Von Scheirholz factory has produced some of the greatest examples of porcelain vases, compotes, and figural items yet in the storied history of Meissen, Dresden, and other producers in what is now Germany. The Von Schierholz porcelain factory is still located in its original town of Plaue in Thuringia
