Antique Hutch Table Tavern Chair

Antique Hutch Table Tavern Chair a good example of a 19th century tavern chair or hutch table, which flips up to reveal the base chair with the saying Rest Ye and Thankful-Be and lovely Poinsettias carving in bright colors of red with green leaves. Once the chair back is lowered a checkerboard is carved into the top. Extra care was given in carving the grain to give the impressions of oak. The finish on this piece is very good overall, with great patina, minor imperfections, and shrinkage cracks and expected wear from age and use. The chair does show some separation from shrinkage dating to 1840’s with the following dimensions Chair 18 ½” Wide x 26 ½” High 47” High to table Back Chair seat 17” x 17” Table 29” Diameter x 28” High.
